Proteinuria and Homeopathy
The glomerulus is the basic filtering unit of the kidney. Glomeruli are the largest part of the nephron. Glomerular lesions allow filtration of larger serum proteins. The presence of albumin in the urine is a sure sign of glomerular abnormality. Patients are usually unaware of proteinuria, although it may make urine froth easily. Moderate amounts of low molecular weight protein are normally filtered at the glomerulus. These proteins are normally reabsorbed by tubular cells so that less than 150 mg/dl should appear in urine. Low molecular weight proteins appearing in the urine in larger quantities than this point to failure of reabsorption by damaged tubular cells.

Persistent microalbuminuria has also been associated with an increased risk of atherosclerosis and other diseases. Relatively minor leakage of albumin into the urine may also occur transiently after vigorous exercise, during fever, in heart failure and other disease states.
In many types of renal disease, the severity of proteinuria is a marker for an increased risk of progressive loss of renal function. When substantial amounts of protein are lost in the urine, a series of secondary phenomena occur which constitutes nephrotic syndrome(protein level >3g/24hr). In diabetes mellitus type-2, significant proteinuria is an early sign of diabetic glomerulopathy.
The early management of renal disease by homeopathy not only saves the kidneys but also prevents its complications. It can even restore the partial loss of function of the kidneys.
